You’re officially invited to Possibility Ocean

Our inaugural Possibility Ocean Summit is three weeks away on March 18, from 1-4 pm ET! We’re excited to gather business leaders, ocean data pioneers, and cross-sector innovators to unlock the economic potential of ocean data for the good of businesses and the planet.

You’re invited to a 3-hour virtual summit featuring insightful keynotes, expert panelists, and interactive fireside chats. And if you’re local to Rhode Island or the greater Northeast, you can come to our in-person watch party and happy hour at Innovate Newport for no extra charge! Get your tickets today.

WHY DID WE START POSSIBILITY OCEAN?

Impact-driven climate and bluetech work have been a part of Giant Shoulders. We’ve worked with pioneers in the ocean and Bluetech, and along the way, we have met many amazing innovators, startups, and policymakers. The problem is breaking through silos to discover how we can create a better future together.

Using our superpower to tell stories that bring people together, Possibility Ocean is initiating a conversation about the shared challenges faced by government, corporations, and the private sector while exploring how Bluetech can provide the solutions.

Change can feel impossible with constant negative climate news and US funding for ocean observation at risk. But we have a chance to shape the future we want to see, and it starts with telling better stories.

OUR SPEAKERS AND AGENDA

As the Possibility Ocean community has grown, we’re excited to welcome a lineup of expert guest speakers and panelists across multiple ocean-related sectors. You’ll hear from:

  • Dr. Joanna Post, Head of the Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS) at UNESCO Ocean

  • Craig McLean, retired Assistant Administrator for Research at NOAA

  • Dr. Angus Hervey, economist, journalist and founder of Fix the News

  • Lee Silvestre, NavalX Northeast Tech Bridge Coordinator

  • Dr. Ravi Pappu, CEO of Apeiron Labs

Through keynotes and panels, our speakers will explore topics like confronting the chaos of warming oceans, how ocean data transforms risk to opportunity, and how we can build the future of data-driven prosperity.
